OPENING HOURS

Botanic House is opened from 11am to 5pm everyday for lunch and 9am to 11am for weekend brunch. Dinner opening times are dependent on the Botanic Garden’s opening times. In Winter, we are open Fridays and Saturdays from 5pm to 7:30pm (last bookings at 6pm) and in Summer, we are open Thursday to Sunday from 5pm to 9pm (last bookings at 8:30pm).

Trippas White Group does not currently offer a loyalty program between it’s venues.

GIFT CARDS

Yes, gift cards can be purchased from the following link and are available for use at any Trippas White Group venue.

Gift cards are delivered online to your email address.

Please ensure you fully read the terms and conditions on our website prior to continuing to purchase the gift card but in summary;
You can buy a gift voucher from our parent company ,Trippas White Group for $50 or more and use it at any of our restaurants.
You can pay the remaining amount with cash or credit card if your bill is more than the card value.
You can keep the unused balance for future use, but the card will expire in 3 years.
You cannot get cash back or refund for the card, and you cannot replace it if you lose it or someone steals it.
You may need to show your ID if you use the card within 7 days of buying it.
You will pay an administration fee for the card, which may change over time.
Trippas White Group can change the terms and conditions anytime.

Gift cards are valid for 3 years from date of purchase. Any balance on a gift card which is not redeemed within the validity date cannot be used after the expired date.

Pre-Payment or Purchase

Yes, we do accept pre-pay but please note is payable with via a Gift Card only.

BYO

Botanic is not a BYO restaurant but rest assured we do have a comprehensive beverage list

Yes, you may BYO a cake but please be aware that we charge $2.50 cakeage per person.

We don’t offer cakes, but we can request a special complementary birthday dessert for the birthday person(s), please let us know if you would like any.

SPECIAL OCCASIONS AND CELEBRATIONS

We can offer a celebratory dessert, we do birthday plates, anniversary plates and congratulatory plates.

We allow a maximum of one balloon per a table and yes you bring candles to the Botanic House.

In terms of flowers and other table decorations, you may bring them but please note that we may not be able to provide you extra table or storage space.

Parking & Directions and venue access

As we are inside the Botanic Gardens, our parking options are street metered parking along Mrs Macquarie Road, and the Domain carpark

The closest train station would be St James Train Station

We recommend entering through Woolloomooloo Gate or Henry Lawson Gate. Wheelchair access is available via Woolloomooloo Gate, if needed we can provide a buggy service please contact us if you would like us to organise this for you. Please note after the Botanic Garden closes only Henry Lawson Gate is available for access and exit

As many of the access points to the Gardens close of an evening, all diners must enter & exit through the Henry Lawson Gate on Mrs Macquaries Road. In the instance that bookings arrive after the gate closure time please contact our reservations team in advance to provide access.

Menu Information

Our kids menu is just our bar menu – a mushroom fried rice with ice cream or dumplings. For lunch we can additionally offer chicken with chips or fish with chips and ice cream.

We don’t have a separate group menu, the normal shared tasting menu is our group menu

Please contact our Events team for details, depending on your request we will offer a very similar concept

We do cater to dietary requirements, please notify us either in the comments or at the venue and our chefs will cater to you accordingly on the day.

Our chef will ensure to cater to you on the day accordingly, we don’t have a set Vegan/Vegetarian menu

Botanic House is not a halal restaurant.   While we source our meat from a certified halal butcher named St. Andrews’, we cannot guarantee that meals have been prepared following the halal regulations.

Picnic hampers

You can order picnic hampers through our online portal, please note that we require 24 hours notice to put in an order.
Picnics can be ordered at the venue for takeaway on the day, however, similar to walk ins it would depend on how busy we are.

If you have pre-ordered your picnic hamper please allocate 10-15 minutes time when you arrive at the restaurant as our kitchen cooks the hot items when you arrive to ensure the freshness of your food. If you have ordered a picnic hamper at the venue it may take 25-30 minutes

Please contact us if you would like to reschedule your picnic hamper, or cancel the picnic hamper. Cancellations are handled per discretion of the venue management

Pets

No, as the Botanic Gardens itself does not allow pets to enter the Gardens

Only guide and assistant dogs are welcome

Botanic House can provide all catering requirements, we therefore do not allow external caterers.

SURCHARGES

Yes, Botanic House charges a 1.5% credit card surcharge.

For groups of 10 or more there is a 10% group surcharge

On public holidays there is a 15% public holiday surcharge

On Sundays there is a 10% sunday surcharge

All adult guest dining in will be required to have the tasting menu.

Walk-ins

We do accept walk ins but reservations are encouraged. Walk-ins will also have to do our set tasting menu and is dependent on availability. If you do not wish to have the tasting menu we can only offer our bar menu for bar seats

Seating arrangement

We do take request for seating arrangements but we cannot guarantee anything as table allocations are managed by the Restaurant manage on the day prior to service.

Botanic House has an open floor plan, we don’t offer semi-private dining space. If you are after a private space please contact our Events team

Redballoon or other 3rd party reservations

If you have a third-party voucher (not Destination Dining Gift Card) you have to book through the third party’s website, and go through their steps to utilise that voucher. If you need any assistance you will have to contact them through their customer service avenues.

If you have already claimed a voucher and would like to make any changes, please send us an email so we can refer you to the appropriate department.
